A pedestrian has been struck and killed in Cave City.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the accident Sunday morning at approximately 1:00 on South Dixie Highway in Cave City.
The preliminary investigation showed that 37-year-old Rogerick Fields, of Glasgow, was driving a 2005 Mitsubishi SUV south on South Dixie Highway. A pedestrian, 63-year-old Paul Fields, of Glasgow, was in the travel portion of the roadway as the SUV approached. Rogerick Fields, police said, attempted to avoid striking the pedestrian but was unable to do so.

The investigation is being led by Trooper Michael Wathen.
Police did not elaborate on the relationship between the two men, if any.
