A Leitchfield man arrested a month ago on drug charges has again been jailed on a drug charge after being found in a vehicle behind an apartment complex.
Sunday evening just before midnight, Leitchfield Police Department Sgt. DJ Newton and Officer Taylor Wright responded to a complaint at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Mill Street. The caller told 911 that a truck containing a man who does not live in the complex was parked behind the apartments. The suspect, the caller said, appeared to be either asleep or passed out.
Upon arriving at the scene, police made contact with 34-year-old Christopher B. Lester, who was in a Chevrolet S10 truck.
During a search of the vehicle, police located multiple pills.
Lester was arrested and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where he was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), two counts of possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), public intoxication (excludes alcohol), giving an officer false identifying information, having a prescription controlled substance not in its proper container, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lester has a lengthy arrest history, including an arrest for possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), having a prescription controlled substance not in its proper container and public intoxication in April in Laurel County. Additionally, besides Laurel County, he has previously been arrested in Grayson, Whitley, and Knox counties on a variety of drug- and alcohol-related charges, according to online records.
