Caneyville felon with history of theft, drug, assault arrests jailed on theft, persistent felony offender counts

A Caneyville felon with a history of theft, drug and assault arrests has been jailed on theft and persistent felony offender charges.

Steven W. Embry, 28, (whose address has been listed as Caneyville, Rineyville and Louisville) was charged after his indictment by a Grayson County Grand Jury for theft by unlawful taking (automobile, more than $1,000 less than $10,000) and first-degree persistent felony offender.

He is lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Embry, in October 2022, was arrested in Ohio County and charged with receiving stolen property (over $1,000, less than $10,000) and possession of burglary tools. Also, in October 2022, he was collared in Hardin County and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was jailed in April 2022 on multiple felony charges after Edmonson County deputies received a tip on drug trafficking which resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a Chalybeate School Road residence.

During a search of the property, deputies located methamphetamine, firearms, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash.

In that case, Embry was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, persistent felony offender, trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to online records, he has also been arrested over the last five years for felony wanton endangerment (twice), fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), second-degree assault (domestic violence), and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
