An earthquake struck McLean County on Monday.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said the 3.3 magnitude quake hit four miles west of Calhoun, about 21 miles south of Owensboro, at approximately 9:45 Monday night.
The quake was centered about six miles below the earth’s surface, the USGS said.
A 2.5 magnitude aftershock struck an area 3.7 miles west of Calhoun about four minutes after the initial quake.
The quake was felt as far away as Owensboro.
No damage has been reported, as generally an earthquake must register a magnitude of between 4.0 to 5.0 to cause destruction.
