The main U.S. Post Office in Pikeville has suffered a partial roof collapse.
The incident happened Saturday night at approximately 6:00 at the Pikeville Common apartment complex, which is the building that houses the city’s main post office, according to WYMT.com.
Firefighters and other first responders cleared the building, which also contains multiple apartments. No injuries were reported.
Officials continue to work to determine why the roof collapsed. Although, Pikeville Fire Chief Nicholas Fleming told the television station that an earlier storm may have contributed to the partial collapse.
Customers may pick up mail and make purchases at the post office on Main Street in Pikeville until further notice.
