Two juveniles survived a horrific car crash after a vehicle left Beaver Dam Road at a high rate of speed, striking two utility poles.

Thursday morning at 3:37, Grayson County Deputy Andy Cast, Leitchfield Police Officer Taylor Wright and the Leitchfield Fire Department responded to the single-vehicle crash in the 3900 block of Beaver Dam Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found that a westbound Chevrolet Camaro, being driven by a 17-year-old male from Stephensburg, left the roadway while coming out of a nearly 90-degree curve.

The vehicle traveled over a driveway and through a yard before entering a field where the car struck a ditch. The Camaro then went airborne before hitting and snapping a utility pole in half.

The vehicle traveled another 150-plus yards in the field before hitting another utility pole head-on.

The vehicle hit the pole with such force that it not only broke the pole, but the Chevy went airborne and spun around pole, coming to rest facing north.

In total, the vehicle traveled about 300 yards after leaving the roadway.

The car contained not only a juvenile driver, but another male juvenile from Grayson County. Neither was injured.

The investigation showed that that the Camaro was taken by the juvenile driver from a family member without their permission, according to police.

Both juveniles were turned over to family members.
