A suspect has been arrested after she stabbed a small child and a woman.

The incident occurred Wednesday morning at approximately 6:30 at the Foundry Apartments in the 5800 block of Bruns Drive, off Dixie Highway in Louisville, just south of Shively.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the six-year-old boy and the female victim “had sustained stab wounds as a result of an altercation with an adult female relative who fled the scene,”WDRB.com reports.

The child, who suffered a skull fracture, according to WLKY.com, was transported to Norton Children’s Hospital in critical condition. He has undergone at least one surgery and is expected to survive. The female was transported to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She was listed in serious condition.

Louisville police developed information that led officers to arrest 28-year-old Sequoia S. Porter, who was found hiding Wednesday night in a wooded area near Brinson Drive in Shively.

The incident started when Porter and the woman began arguing.

Porter was charged with attempted murder and assault. Additional charges could be forthcoming. She was lodged in Louisville Metro Corrections.
