Two Hardin County teenagers have been arrested after shooting out the windows of nearly 40 vehicles during an early Sunday morning “crime spree.”

Elizabethtown Police Department Public Affairs Officer John Thomas said 19-year-old Darius Earls and 19-year-old Buster Diebold, both of Radcliff, were arrested after shooting out the windows of 26 vehicles in Elizabethtown and 13 in Radcliff.

“Both suspects admitted to detectives that after getting off work from Amazon in Shepherdsville early Sunday morning, they decided to drive around and shoot out car windows in Radcliff and Elizabethtown with a BB gun,” Thomas said in a press release.

A black BB gun was found inside the 2009 Kia Optima “the suspects used during their crime spree,” Thomas said, which caused “thousands of dollars” in damage.

“We are urging anyone with similar damage during this time period to please make a report to the appropriate law enforcement agency,” Thomas said.

The suspects were charged with first-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center. Neither is currently listed as an inmate.
