A Hardin County woman arrested three years ago for engaging in organized crime and drug trafficking has been busted with nearly 10 pounds of methamphetamine and two pounds of cocaine.

Nichole L. Lewis, 39, of Elizabethtown, was recently indicted by a Hardin County Grand Jury for three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana) and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, according to media reports.

The indictment stems from the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force discovering more than eight pounds of methamphetamine, two pounds of cocaine, $5,900 in cash and marijuana while executing a search warrant on July 6.

Lewis was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $150,000 cash bond.

In February 2020, a Kentucky State Police traffic stop in Radcliff led to Lewis’ arrest for engaging in organized crime, trafficking in synthetic drugs and marijuana, and possession of opiates.

It was just after midnight on Saturday, February 22, 2020, when troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the corner of West Lincoln Trail Boulevard and North Dixie Avenue. During a search of the vehicle, being driven by Lewis, troopers located marijuana and cash.

Police said information obtained during the stop led troopers to execute a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Oak Ridge Drive in Radcliff. The search of the home led to the seizure of synthetic marijuana, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash.

In that case, Lewis was charged with engaging in organized crime, first-degree wanton endangerment, trafficking in synthetic drugs, possession of a controlled substance (opiates), trafficking in marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia along with non-moving violations.

Others charged in the 2020 case were:

Gerrod D. McElroy, 32 (no address available), and Vershawn Gregory, 32, of Radcliff, were charged with engaging in organized crime, first-degree wanton endangerment, trafficking in synthetic drugs, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nadine D. Colquitt, 34 (no address available), was charged with possession of synthetic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also served with an outstanding warrant.
