Attorney General Daniel Cameron will be joining the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and attorney generals from all 50 states in order to fight robocalls.
The project is called “Operation Stop Scam Calls.” It highlights the work of state and federal partners against illegal telemarketing operations that are responsible for billions of calls to Americans.
“Scam callers victimize vulnerable citizens every day, and their fake calls make phone communication more difficult for everyone,” Cameron said. “I’m proud of the work my office has done to protect Kentuckians, and we will continue to pursue every available avenue to stop these calls and hold those who facilitate such illegal conduct accountable.”
Cameron recently joined another bi-partisan measure in supporting a proposal by the Federal Communications Commission to require wireless providers to block illegal text messages from invalid numbers.
