The bodies of a mother and daughter from McLean County who went missing from Owensboro Friday night have been found.
Divers found the bodies of 59-year-old Regina Payne and 80-year-old Bonnie Mays, both of Calhoun, submerged in their vehicle in Green River Tuesday night at approximately 6:30 near a boat ramp in Onton, in Webster County, according to McLean County Sheriff Ken Frizzell.
Frizzell said the women drove off Wrightsburg Road, in Webster County, and into the river. Where the road meets the river is poorly lit and lacks signage.
“The preliminary investigation points to accidental deaths,” Frizzell said.
The pair left Riverside Care & Rehab Center in Calhoun on Friday afternoon for a trip to Owensboro. The women were last seen Friday night at 11:30 at a restaurant in the 3100 block of Frederica Street.
