A 20-year-old man has been accused of shooting and killing a 20-year-old woman.

Kentucky State Police and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a shooting Wednesday night at 6:00 at a residence in Garrison, a small town in Lewis County. Upon arriving at the scene, authorizes discovered the body of 20-year-old Kylie Weitz, of Garrison.

Initially, police believed Weitz was suffering from a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound. Further investigation, though, showed that 20-year-old Damien Hebbler, also of Garrison, had shot Weitz.

Hebbler was arrested and charged with murder and lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing and being led by Kentucky State Police.

Authorities did not release a motive for the shooting.
