An Elizabethtown man serving in the U.S. Army has been arrested in Alaska after allegedly killing his wife.
The Anchorage (AK) Police Department charged 21-year-old Zarrius Hildabrand with murder in the death of his wife, 21-year-old Saria B. Hildabrand, who was originally from Utah.
Saria Hildabrand went missing on Sunday, August 6, the day after the couple celebrated Zarrius’ 21st birthday. She was reported missing the next day, and was found deceased in a “concealed location along a trail near the apartment complex” where the couple lived, according to the Anchorage Daily News.
A drone, Anchorage police said, aided in finding the victim’s body.
The newspaper reports that authorities responded during the early morning hours of August 6 to a report of gunfire in the area of the apartment complex. Police, though, found nothing suspicious when searching the area.
Zarrius Hildabrand has been charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence. He was lodged in the Anchorage Jail.
The suspect is a soldier in the U.S. Army serving in Anchorage. Saria Hildabrand was a combat medic with the Alaska National Guard.
