Timothy “Steve” Stephen Hughes, age 70, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (September 14, 2023) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on September 28, 1952 in Peru, IN, the son of the late Clyde and Mary Alice Sartin Hughes.
He was a retired laborer at Ft. Knox Central Issue Facility who enjoyed gun collecting and playing with his dog, Bubbles. He was an Army Veteran who served for 27 years until he was honorably discharged on October 31, 1991. Steve was a loving husband, father and pop who enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Hughes of Leitchfield; son, Timothy Hughes Jr. (Kelly) of Elizabethtown; his four grandchildren, Zachary, MacKenzie, Makayla, and Grayson Hughes; brothers, Rick, J.R., Charlie, and David; sisters, Jane, Beth, Sarah, Lana, Jovannah and Sharon. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Roger, Jack and Sue.
In keeping with his wishes cremation was chosen.
