A Grayson County man has been arrested on drug and assault charges after allegedly taking LSD.

Friday night at approximately 6:50, Grayson County Sgt. Erik Franklin and Deputy Sean Fentress responded to a residence in the 300 block of Sharer Drive on the report that 25-year-old Ian Robbins, of Leitchfield, was “out of control,” according to the arrest citation.

Upon deputies arriving at the scene, they found that Robbins had assaulted a male. When police made contact with the suspect inside the home, he was incoherent, as he was “talking and making no sense,” the citation states.

Robbins was then given a verbal command to get on the floor. As deputies handcuffed the suspect he resisted. And as police walked him to a patrol vehicle, “he wrapped his leg around mine in an attempt to trip me and was taken to the ground by myself and Deputy Fentress,” Franklin writes in the citation.

Robbins continued to resist by kicking at the deputies, resulting in the suspect being placed in leg shackles.

During a search of the suspect’s room, police found methamphetamine.

Police also noted damage inside the residence caused by Robbins, including “holes in the walls and damaged furniture,” according to the citation.

The suspect was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), fourth-degree assault, resisting arrest, third-degree criminal mischief, and public intoxication (excludes alcohol).

Robbins, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, was convicted in Edmonson County in December 2020 for trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine). He is on probation until November 20, 2023.
