A man has been killed after losing control of a concrete mixer truck and crashing into a large road sign support.

The Elizabethtown Police Department responded to the accident Friday morning at approximately 7:50 on the Hwy 31-W Bypass near the Western Kentucky Parkway overpass.

The preliminary investigation showed that a concrete mixer truck, being driven by 26-year-old Dillon Pulaski, was traveling north when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left roadway and struck a pylon that supports a large, overhead road sign, according to Elizabethtown PD Public Affairs Officer Chris Denham.

The impact displaced the signage, blocking all lanes of the bypass until about 2:45 p.m.

Pulaski was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office.

The concrete mixer truck is owned by SRM Concrete, a company based out of Smyrna, Tennessee.

According to Pulaski’s LinkedIn profile, he lived in Elizabethtown.

The accident remains under investigation by the Elizabethtown PD collision reconstruction team.
