Police continue to search for a man wanted for first-degree rape and sexual abuse of a child.
Kentucky State Police and the Bowling Green Police Department are searching for 40-year-old Anthony W. Murphy. He is wanted for first-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12.
He was recently listed by South Central Kentucky Crime Stoppers as a wanted individual, according to WBKO.com.
In March 2021, Kentucky State Police listed a profile of Murphy in the agency’s “Wanted Wednesday” feature. State police said at the time that Murphy’s last known address was in Glasgow.
State police said Murphy stands five feet, nine inches tall and has brown hair.
According to someone who purports to know Murphy, and who left a comment with an updated photo (in 2021) of the suspect on KSP’s Facebook page, Murphy has a tattoo of a ram (similar to the Dodge Ram) on his right shoulder. The commenter also said Murphy is diabetic and was “last seen wearing a pump.”
Anyone with information regarding Murphy’s location is asked to contact Kentucky State Police at 270-782-2010 or South Central Kentucky Crime Stoppers at 270-781-CLUE. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to Murphy’s arrest.
