Lucy Lindsey Lucas, age 68, of Big Clifty, KY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on
Friday, (October 13, 2023.)

She was born December 30, 1954 in Grayson County, KY to the late Otto and Mary Ethel Hill
Lindsey.

Other than her parents, she was proceeded in death by her second Mom, Mildred Vaughn
Lindsey, brothers, Eugene Lindsey and James (Jim) Dennis Dooley, a sister, Mary Helen
Wilson, nephews, Eric and Jamie Lindsey, grandparents, Tolbert and Geneva Lindsey, Owen
and Clara Hill, many uncles, aunts, cousins and a special Aunt, Gladys Lindsey.

Lucy served at Breckenridge-Grayson Headstart for almost 30 years, with her role as a Family
Advocate for the majority of that time. Her true calling and passion was nurturing and caring for
those around her. She was known for her kind heart, thoughtfulness, care and compassion for
others. She co-owned and operated Double L Grocery in Hardin Springs, KY for 23 years.

She enjoyed working in the garden and being outside and growing commercial mums. Lucy
was active in her home church of Needham Cumberland Presbyterian and enjoyed worshiping
the Lord any chance she had. Her greatest joy was her relationship with family and friends. She
made sure all that knew her, knew that they were loved by her and the Lord.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Arnold Wayne Lucas, a daughter, who was
her pride and joy, Lauren Alea Lucas (Taylor Averdick), two cherished sisters, Dr. Julianna
Lindsey (Dr. Mark Prince) and Tracy Dawn Lindsey, loved sister-in-laws, Tona Lindsey, Lisa
Dooley, Louise (Henry) Lewis, Dorothy Durrance, Pauline Haire, and numerous adored nieces,
nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, (October 19, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral
Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Eric Hornback and Sis. Danielle Hornback will be officiating. Burial
will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and
from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
