A vehicle stolen from a Leitchfield residence was spotted on a traffic camera on the University of Louisville campus.

The Leitchfield Police Department responded early Tuesday morning to a home on Woodlawn Avenue on the report of a vehicle being stolen. Upon arriving at the residence, police discovered that a silver, 2019 Mazda CX-9 had been stolen sometime between midnight and 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. The keys had been left in the vehicle.

During the early afternoon hours, according to police, the license plate was recorded on a traffic cam on the UofL campus.

The vehicle, as of early Wednesday morning, had not been located.

K105 last week reminded residents to lock car doors and remove valuables from vehicles as there has been an increase in thefts and attempted thefts from vehicles.
