A Beaver Dam man with multiple felony convictions has been busted with eight grams of methamphetamine and firearms.
On Friday, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on Mosgrove Lane and discovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, a handgun and rifle, ammunition, scales, and baggies.
Police arrested 24-year-old Jeremy D. Ward.
“Ward is currently on felony probation for other drug related convictions,” Ohio County Sheriff Adam Wright said.
Upon Ward being processed into the Ohio County Detention Center, authorities found approximately eight grams of methamphetamine “concealed on his person,” police said.
Ward was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, first-degree promoting contraband, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The drug charges are enhanced due to the presence of a firearm.
He is no longer listed as an inmate.
According to the Kentucky Department of Corrections (KDC), Ward, between January 2019 and November 2020, was convicted of four felonies: two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), third-degree burglary and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Ward, according to the KDC, was granted parole in April 2023 with a “proposed release date” of June 1, 2023.
