Faye White, age 67, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024.  Faye was born on May 13th, 1956, in Leitchfield, Kentucky.

She was the eldest of four daughters born to the late Jane and Gerald White.  Faye is survived by her sisters, Rita Gail Madler (Thomas) of Conroe, Texas, Mary Kathryn Graham (Harold) of Elizabeth, Indiana, and Martha Elaine Baldwin (Dan) of Hendersonville, Tennessee, a niece, Moriah Elaine Bunker (William) and nephews, Jacob Wayne Hack, Jared Ryan Hack (Carrie Roth), and Harold Graham, Jr., and their children, Caleb, Carter, McKenzie, Rylan, Maggie, Brantson, Avery, Elaina and Truett.  She loved them and treated them like they were her own children.  She was lovingly referred to as “Aunt FooFoo” by her niece, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She also leaves behind several aunts and uncles.

Faye had a very special man in her life for over 15 years, Laurence “Larry” Gevock, and she was also close to his son, Nathan.  Faye and Larry enjoyed spending time at her family’s farm.  Larry would do anything for Faye and those she cared about, especially her mom, Jane.  Faye was tireless in her dedication and love for her late parents, bringing her mother to her own home for over 12 years where she cared for her until her death in 2022.  Faye also leaves behind many close friends and co-workers.

Faye held a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Western Kentucky University.  She was also a certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and Certified Nurse Executive (CNE).  She was a Registered Nurse at The Medical Center at Bowling Green for 42 years where she managed the orthopedic unit until her retirement.  Although she retired from full-time nursing four years ago, she continued to work on a part-time basis for Med Center Health.

Faye (or “Faye-Wray” as a few of her close friends called her) loved working in her yard, especially growing tulips.  Each fall she would plant hundreds of tulips.  Her neighbors and friends enjoyed the fruits of her labor every spring.  She experienced the joy of travel with friends having visited many countries in Europe.  Her latest adventure was a trip in December 2023 to visit the Christmas markets in the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria.  Faye also enjoyed watching sports, especially UK basketball, playing Shanghai Rummy, going to the farmer’s market, reading novels, going to garden shows and walking with friends at the mall.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield, KY. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
