Two Hartford residents have been arrested for burglarizing a residence in Fordsville.

Ohio County Sheriff Adam Wright said that on Thursday night at approximately 6:00, deputies on patrol in the 1900 block of Hwy 54 in Fordsville observed an SUV backed into the driveway of a vacant home where several burglaries had been committed.

Police also observed what appeared to be two subjects with flashlights inside the garage.

Police made contact with the suspects, 49-year-old Christopher M. Means and 37-year-old Kasey Cecil, when deputies determined that Means and Cecil “did not have permission to be in or at the … residence,” according to Wright.

During a search of the suspects’ vehicle, Wright said deputies located an “easily identifiable item that had been taken from the property.”

Means and Cecil were arrested and charged with third-degree burglary and lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center on $5,000 cash bonds.
