Over the next few weeks, trained service technicians working on behalf of LG&E and KU will be in Grayson County replacing electric meters.
The companies said the new advanced meters will help residents “manage energy use and allow the electric companies to offer new tools and services.”
There is no additional cost to the consumer.
During the meter exchange process:
- A technician from Utility Partners of America (UPA) will upgrade your meter(s). They carry photo identification, and their vehicles are marked as LG&E and KU contractors.
- The meter exchange will only take a few minutes and you do not need to be present. There may be a brief disruption of power during the meter exchange. Contact UPA at 800-914-4179 if you have questions about the meter exchange.
- If you do not wish to receive an advanced meter, please visit lge-ku.com/meter-opt-out, and fill out the form. We will contact you about the monthly charges you will incur by opting out.
