Elderly driver plows through front of Auggie Doggie’s in Garfield

An elderly driver drove into Auggie Doggie’s Gas and Food convenience store on Hwy 60 in Garfield on Thursday.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:00 Thursday morning when a Chevrolet Silverado, being driven by 77-year-old Terry Burley, of Owensboro, drove through the front door of the business, according to a report by 104.3 The River.

No one was injured.

Multiple agencies are conducting investigations into the current structural viability of the building. The store will be closed until further notice.

Police told the radio station that the accident was caused by human error.
