
Three people have died after an elderly driver ran a red light in Casey County.
Kentucky State Police said the accident occurred Sunday afternoon at approximately 2:00 when a Jeep Liberty, being driven east on Hwy 70 by 85-year-old Otis Tapscott, of Liberty, ran a red light at the intersection of Hwy 127. The Jeep then collided with a Chevrolet Equinox, being driven by 56-year-old Teresa Burton, of Yosemite (Casey Co.).
Tapscott and Burton were killed in the accident along with a passenger in the Chevy, 67-year-old David Burton, of Liberty. Another passenger in the Chevy, 21-year-old Jackie Cooper, was transported to University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center with serious injuries.
