An intoxicated school bus driver waiting to take students home following an event has been arrested in eastern Kentucky.

The Flatwoods Police Department arrested 57-year-old Lisa Nichols, a bus driver for Greenup County Schools, at a school event in Russell after she blew a .133 on a preliminary breath test and displayed signs of intoxication, according to a report by WSAZ.com.

The arrest came when a Greenup County Schools staff member told law enforcement that Nichols was possibly intoxicated. The suspect admitted that she drank during dinner at a restaurant.

No students were on the bus with Nichols while she was intoxicated.

Nichols was charged with public intoxication and lodged in the Greenup County Detention.

She has been terminated from her position.
