A St. Paul man critically injured in a motorcycle accident in Tar Hill has died.

Joshua T. Drake, 24, died on Monday at University of Louisville Hospital, according to his obituary.

Drake, on Saturday just after noon, was traveling west on a 2000 Honda motorcycle on St. Paul Road when an eastbound 2014 Jeep Patriot, being driven by 34-year-old Charles Fuqua, of Tennessee, was veering “into the Tar Hill gas station and didn’t see the motorcycle,” Grayson County Deputy Sean Fentress said.

“The motorcycle clipped the rim and passenger side of the Jeep,” Fentress stated, with the motorcycle “thrown approximately 60 feet.” Drake was then tossed off the bike where he flew about 40 feet into a ditch where he struck a fence post, according to Sheriff Norman Chaffins.

Drake was transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center by EMS before being airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital. Drake’s obituary can be found by clicking here.
