A LaRue County man has died and two others, including a child, were critically injured in a single-vehicle accident.

Kentucky State Police responded to the crash Sunday evening at approximately 6:30 in the 6000 block of Greensburg Road (Hwy 61).

The preliminary investigation, state police said, showed that 59-year-old Bobby D. Sexton, of Magnolia, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado south when he traveled onto the shoulder of the roadway before overcorrecting, causing the vehicle to overturn several times.

Sexton was pronounced deceased at the scene by the LaRue Co. Coroner’s Office.

A child in the Silverado was airlifted to Norton Children’s Hospital, while an adult passenger was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital. Both suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.

The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Lukas Jones.
