The treasurer of a western Kentucky church has been accused of stealing up to $400,000.

Gregory Siener, who served as treasurer of Reidland United Methodist Church in Paducah for five years, was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking (greater than $10,000, less than $1 million).

McCracken County Sheriff Ryan Norman told WPSD.com that Siener allegedly stole between $300,000 and $400,000 from several different church accounts. The missing money was discovered in February.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.

Siener was lodged in the McCracken County Jail on a $10,000 bond. He is no longer listed as an inmate.
