Hardin Co. man sentenced for beating, stabbing his father to death

A Hardin County man who killed his father has been sentenced after agreeing to a plea deal.

Tyler D. Sheroan, 37, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing his father, 70-year-old Michael Sheroan, of Radcliff, in a domestic violence murder, according to The News-Enterprise.

The murder occurred on Friday afternoon, October 27, 2023, at approximately 4:30 when the Radcliff Police Department responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Hill Street and discovered Michael Sheroan deceased after being beaten and stabbed.

The suspect experienced a medical episode at the residence after being detained by police. He was transported to Baptist Health Hardin. Two days later he was arrested and charged with his father’s murder.

Sheroan was indicted on a domestic violence murder count in November 2023.

Since 2008, Sheroan, according to online records, was arrested over two dozen times on charges including, assault, drug possession (methamphetamine, synthetic drugs), theft by unlawful taking (controlled substance), burglary, violating parole, felony wanton endangerment, alcohol-related offenses, harassment, and unlawful imprisonment.

He was convicted of second-degree assault in January 2023. The incident took place in September 2021.
