A young Grayson County couple with a baby recently diagnosed with Leukemia has received a check “that far exceeded” the fundraising goal, Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins said.

Chaffins earlier this week announced that Hunter Felty, Makayla Hack and their baby Noah were recently presented with the check.

“I am truly blessed to live in such a giving community,” Chaffins stated. “We rally around those that are hurting.”

As K105 previously reported, on November 1, 2024, baby Noah had his two-month well child visit where his pediatrician noticed that his white blood cell count was twenty-times that of a typical child.

When Hunter and Makayla took Noah to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville to have the infant evaluated, they were informed that baby Noah has B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

“His young parents … and their families are devastated,” Chaffins said at the time.

Hunter, Chaffins added, is the primary financial support for his son and has been staying with Noah at Norton Children’s Hospital the entire time the infant has been hospitalized.

But due to the heartfelt help of Grayson County residents, “you have made it possible for two young parents to focus on getting their son the love and care he desperately needs,” Chaffins said.

“On behalf of Makayla, Hunter and Noah … thank you, thank you, thank you for supporting our ‘Behind the Badge’ and our fundraising endeavors,” the sheriff exclaimed.
