A woman was killed after being thrown from a vehicle that struck a semi-truck.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the crash on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3:15 near the 15-mile marker of I-75 in Whitley County.
The investigation showed that a southbound Ford F-150 truck, being driven by 28-year-old Michael G. Waits, of Lynchburg, Ohio, struck the rear of a southbound Freightliner tractor-trailer, ejecting Waits’ passenger, 24-year-old Addison Bailey Fowler, of Fayetteville, Ohio.
Fowler was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Whitley County Coroner’s Office. Waits was transported to Baptist Health Corbin where he was treated and released.
The semi driver was not injured.
