Edmonson Co. man accused of stealing canopy, selling tomatoes under stolen canopy a short distance from burglary

An Edmonson County man is as accused of stealing a canopy then selling tomatoes under the stolen canopy.

The Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office arrested 65-year-old David James, of Brownsville, after he was accused of stealing a canopy from a trailer on Papa Court, then using the canopy while selling tomatoes a short distance away (less than a half mile), near the intersection of Mammoth Cave Road and Veterans Memorial Highway (Hwy 259), according to a report by WNKY.com.

James was arrested Monday morning at approximately 10:30 while selling tomatoes.

He was charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief and lodged in the Hart County Jail.
