An Adair County middle school student has been killed in a DUI crash.
Adair County Public Schools said in a social media post that eighth-grader Skyler Huckaby, a student at Adair County Middle School, died in a crash early Sunday morning.
The wreck occurred near the Adair-Russell County line.
Police arrested 31-year-old David King, of Columbia, and charged him with vehicular homicide when under the influence of alcohol, this third DUI (aggravating circumstances), first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, reckless driving, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
He was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
No other information has been released.
