An Elizabethtown man is facing 30 years in prison after he killed two women in a DUI crash.

Robert Wilson, 35, admitted to being high on methamphetamine during a crash in LaRue County that killed his passenger and a passenger in a vehicle Wilson struck head-on in July 2022.

As K105 previously reported, Kentucky State Police responded to the crash at approximately 10:15 on Sunday night, July 17, 2022, in the 1900 block of Bardstown Road, about one mile east of Hodgenville.

The investigation revealed that Wilson was traveling south on Bardstown Road in a 2009 Chrysler 300 when he crossed the center line and into the path of a 2008 Dodge Charger, being driven by 34-year-old Tessie McNear, of Hodgenville.

A passenger in Wilson’s vehicle, 34-year-old Victoria M. Sharp, of Lebanon, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the LaRue County Coroner’s Office. A passenger in McNear’s vehicle, 41-year-old Carla R. Parker, of Elizabethtown, was transported to Baptist Health Hardin where she was later pronounced deceased.

Wilson and McNear were transported to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries. A juvenile passenger of McNear’s vehicle was transported to Baptist Health Hardin with non-life threatening injuries.

Wilson was indicted by a LaRue Co. Grand Jury in November 2023 on two counts of murder, two counts of first-degree assault and first-degree persistent felony offender, according to The News-Enterprise.

The case was mediated, which resulted in a plea agreement calling for Wilson to serve 20 years for two counts of vehicular homicide when under the influence and 10 years for two counts of first-degree assault, The News-Enterprise reports. The sentences will be served consecutively.

He will be eligible for parole after serving 20 years.
