Two people have been charged with burglarizing an Edmonson County residence.
The Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched on Tuesday to a report that three people, a man, woman and juvenile, “were at a home on Otter Gap Road (about eight miles south of Brownsville) and were not supposed to be there,” according to a report by K105 news partner WNKY.com, and that items had been removed from the residence.
Upon deputies arriving at the home, they made contact with the suspects, 54-year-old Chad Whitson, of Bowling Green, and 30-year-old Madison Deckard, of Smiths Grove.
The ensuing investigation revealed that multiple items from inside the home were in the yard and were dry even though it had been raining all day.
Both suspects were arrested and charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree trespassing and lodged in the Hart County Jail on $5,000 cash bonds.
