A Kentucky State Police trooper federally indicted in March for using unreasonable force has been arrested on a DUI charge in Barren County.

Jarrod Lewis, 28, was arrested on Wednesday in the parking lot of Park Methodist Church in Hiseville after recording a .218 on a breath test, according to multiple media reports. There was also an open alcohol container in the back of his truck.

Lewis, according to the Courier Journal, admitted to drinking four alcoholic drinks.

The incident began when Lewis and his wife were in an argument, and he drove to the church parking lot to “cool off,” The Courier Journal reports. The hood of his truck was warm (indicating it had been recently driven) and the keys were in the ignition.

He was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle and lodged in the Barren County Detention Center. He has since been released.

K105 in March reported that Lewis was indicted by a federal grand jury in Louisville for exercising unreasonable force. If convicted of that charge, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
