A man has been accused of killing two cats and biting part of the ears off another cat.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 to a residence on Skyview Drive, south of the Lake Cumberland Regional Airport, after a man allegedly harmed a cat during a domestic altercation.

While deputies were en route, they were informed by dispatch that the suspect, 22-year-old Zachary L. Rollins, of Somerset, “had bitten the ear off of the caller’s cat,” according to the Pulaski Co. Sheriff’s Office.

Rollins was arrested when deputies arrived and charged with the torture of a dog or cat. He was lodged in the Pulaski Co. Detention Center.

Following the suspect’s arrest, a deputy filed a warrant for a “separate incident involving Rollins and the death of two other cats in April,” the sheriff’s office said. Rollins was served with those warrants while at the detention center.

He’s being held on two bonds totaling $50,000.

Rollins, according to online records, has been arrested in Pulaski Co. multiple times over the last three years on alcohol-related charges, as well as fleeing or evading police, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and violating an EPO.
