An elderly Casey County man has died in a house fire.
The blaze occurred Monday morning at approximately 7:00 at a mobile home on High Point Road, approximately eight miles northwest of Liberty.
Two occupants were inside the home when the fire began, but only a female made it out safely. The body of 73-year-old Humberto Medellin was found after the fire was extinguished, the Casey Co. Coroner’s Office told media outlets.
The female victim was transported to a local hospital.
The body was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy. Foul play is not suspected.
