An elderly man missing after his vehicle was found on the Western Kentucky Parkway near Caneyville has been located after a search that lasted several hours.
The Grayson Co. Sheriff’s Office, Grayson Co. Emergency Management and Caneyville Fire Department began searching for 90-year-old Gregory Irvin, of Florida, after his vehicle was found pointing eastbound in the westbound lane of the parkway, according to Caneyville Fire Chief Brian Pharris.
He had last been seen Monday morning at 2:00 a.m. in the 400 block of Morgantown Street in Caneyville, according to Sheriff Norman Chaffins.
First responders scoured the area for Irvin before making contact with him on his cellphone. Irvin, though, did not know where he was.
Finally, at approximately 6:20 a.m. Monday, Irvin was found by Deputy Joel Baker in a wood line on a hill near the 300 block of Center Street in Caneyville, Chaffins told K105.
EMS was dispatched to the scene as it appeared Irvin suffered a head injury. He was transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center.
