Dallas Laymond Seabolt, 89, of Roundhill passed away peacefully with his family by his side May 25, 2025 at his home.
The Edmonson County native was a McGyver- he could fix anything with toothpicks and black tape. He was a retired machine operator (Badge #624) at Holley Carburetor, a farmer, a past member of the Edmonson County School Board, a member of Washington Meredith Lodge #655 F & AM and a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.
He was a son of the late Dillard “Dee” Seabolt and Dempsey Osborne Seabolt.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Lynn Seabolt Houchin, a grandson, Brandon Anderson Houchin, a son-in-law, Bart Houchin; a brother, Berthel “Buck” Seabolt; three sisters, Ersie Cherry, Eurbana Webb and Versie Parker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Dit Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will take place 12:00-8:00 PM Thursday and after 9:00 AM Friday.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Jeanette Basham Seabolt; a son, Richie Seabolt (Reda) of Roundhill; a daughter, Tonya Seabolt (Tim Houchin) of Roundhill; eight grandchildren, Christy Schultz (Bryan), Christopher Dallas Seabolt (Sonia), Richie Dylan Seabolt, Maggie Piper (Tim), Nikki Elmore, Jesse Mudd (Becca), Brooke Crume (Daniel) and Austin Houchin; 13 great grandchildren; three brothers, Tommy Seabolt (Barbara) of Brownsville, Johnny Seabolt (Patty) of Flaherty and Randall Seabolt (Joyce) of Indianapolis; three sisters, Juanita Minton (Richard) of Chalybeate, Nola Reynolds (David) of Smiths Grove and Emma Miller (Larry) of Alvaton; a brother-in-law, Robert Webb of Louisville; and many nieces and nephews.
