The Grayson County Middle School track and field team closed the season at state on Saturday with multiple strong performances.
The day was highlighted by Levi Masden finishing as the state runner-up in the 800m dash with a time of 2:08:25.
That mark broke a GCMS record that was previously held by recent graduate Houston Brooks.
Additionally, Keilan Hayes cleared seven feet in the pole vault to finish seventh overall in the state.
The 4x400m relay team of Hayes, Reagan Coffey, Jessy Smith, and Jayden Nugent ran a time of 4:52:08. That group previously broke the program record earlier in the season.
The Cougars were also represented at the state meet by Jayden Nugent, who ran a 55.73 in the 300m hurdles.
The high school Cougars will hit the track this coming weekend at the University of Kentucky with Houston Brooks and Amelia Hayes serving as entries for the Orange and Blue.
