The Leitchfield Animal Shelter (LAS) needs your help.
The shelter has taken in four mixed Australian Cattle puppies after the mother developed a case of mastitis (breast inflammation) and is unable to continue nursing.
“Two of our staff members took on two each due to the lack of fosters available last minute,” the shelter said in a social media post.
Initially, the puppies were unwilling to bottle feed but have since acclimated to the bottle and “are currently doing great.”
“We are asking for both puppy and kitten milk replacements as we have MANY bottle babies at the moment,” according to the shelter.
Below are links to purchase the shelter’s “preferred milk replacement,” as many foster animals have been given this brand and “we don’t want to cause their tummy to be upset,” the shelter said.

“Anyone interested in fostering, please reach out. We need reliable fosters who could give the sick, healing, growing, scared/fearful fur babies a quiet place to rest and/or grow,” LAS said.

The shelter is also in need of bleach, blankets, cat litter, and laundry detergent.
“These things are crucial to helping our pets stay clean, healthy and comfortable,” the shelter said.
The Leitchfield Animal Shelter is at 213 William Thomason Byway. To contact the shelter via telephone call 270-230-8839.
