A Meade County man died after colliding head-on with a vehicle while passing another vehicle.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the accident Saturday evening at approximately 11:15 in the 4100 block of Payneville Road (Hwy 144), about seven miles west of Brandenburg.
The state police investigation showed that 20-year-old Robert Eldridge, of Battletown, was driving a 2014 Ford Mustang west on Payneville Road when he attempted to pass a vehicle and struck an eastbound 2025 Toyota Tacoma head-on.
The Toyota was being driven by 44-year-old John Kaw, of Louisville.
Eldridge was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Meade Co. Coroner’s Office.
Kaw and a passenger in Eldridge’s vehicle were airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital.
