An Edmonson County man has been killed in an officer-involved shooting.
The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team was requested by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred Friday afternoon at approximately 4:30 on Shockley Road, about 12 miles north of Scottsville.
The preliminary state police investigation indicated that Allen County deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Shockley Road. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies encountered a white male armed with a firearm, according to state police.
One deputy fatally shot the man, 42-year-old Joshua R. Stanka, of Brownsville. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
