A woman jumped from a moving vehicle to escape a sexual assault in a domestic incident.
The Hopkinsville Police Department responded to the assault on Saturday when the victim told police she had been kidnapped and sexually assaulted by 27-year-old Deonte Walker-Coleman, of Hopkinsville.
The victim further told police that she and Coleman got into an argument while he was driving, according to WSMV.com. During the argument, the victim said that Coleman strangled her until she lost consciousness.
When she woke up, the victim told police she was naked. Coleman then allegedly forced the woman to “perform sexual acts while holding a gun to her head,” WSMV.com reports. She then jumped from the moving vehicle to escape the assault.
The victim had marks on her neck from being strangled and had trouble breathing.
Coleman was arrested and charged with first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree strangulation (domestic violence), kidnapping (adult) and theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property.
He’s being held in the Christian County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.
