
A woman was pulled from a crashed car just before the vehicle burst into flames in Edmonson County.
The Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Hill, Chalybeate and Brownsville Fire Departments and Edmonson Co. EMS responded to the wreck Monday afternoon at approximately 2:20 in the 1700 block of Louisville Road, according to a report by WNKY.com.
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found a northbound vehicle had left the roadway, struck a utility pole and flipped. A witness, Jakob Maynard, rescued the driver, 56-year-old Karen Johnson, of Smiths Grove, from the car just before the vehicle burst into flames, WNKY.com reports.
Johnson, who police believe suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash, was transported to a Bowling Green hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
