Donald “Donnie” Lee Rigsby, age 68, of Clarkson, KY, passed away June 14, 2025, peacefully in his sleep.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Faye (Schwab) Rigsby; his mother and father, Jessie (Haycraft) and Robert Eugene Rigsby; and his youngest son, Jeremy William Rigsby.
Donnie was born on September 16, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Durrett High School and was a 20-year retired United States Navy Veteran. After his retirement Donnie enjoyed his “little” farm of cats, dogs, chickens, snakes, ducks, and whatever else may wonder along. He was an animal lover and rescued every “homeless” animal that came his way.
Donnie is survived by his eldest son and daughter-in-law, Robert Brandon and Anathea Rigsby of Jacksonville, Florida. He also left many wonderful and fun memories with his brothers, Darrell Eugene (Claudia) Rigsby of Louisville, KY; Dana Brian Rigsby (Lisa) Rigsby of Clarkson; his sister, Denise (Michael) Jaggers of Clarkson, KY and daughter-in-law Chelsie Goben-Rigsby. He had a special love for each of his grandchildren: Malisia Sue, Jayden, Lilliana Faye, William, Hunter,
and Karcyn Rigsby; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (CST) at Dermitt Funeral Home, Leitchfield, KY, with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. and burial at the Johnnie Haycraft Memorial Cemetery.
If Donnie were here right now he’d say, “Don’t worry about me, I’m okay. Just take care of yourself”.
