The Leitchfield Fire Department responded to a fire at Loflin’s Auto Parts just after midnight on Wednesday.

Fire personnel were dispatched to Loflin’s, at 224 West White Oak Street, on the report of a refrigerator on fire and increasingly heavy smoke inside the two-story building. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found that an extension cord shorted out a plug, starting a fire in the wall in a second-story room, according to Leitchfield Fire Chief Tim Duvall.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and overhauled (check for hot spots) the area where the fire originated.

No injuries were reported.
