Sewer line work will begin this week on the William Thomason Byway extension project.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 4 spokesman Chris Jessie said the work will take place on the “KY 259 end of the bypass near the parkway.”
The work will require “blockages on side streets west of KY 259,” including White Street, Rhodes Street and South English Street.
Detour signs will be placed on the south end of White Street, the north end of South English Street and Westlake Drive, according to Scotty’s Contracting & Stone’s signage plan, Jessie said.
“The short distance of closure and adjacent streets should make it relatively easy for those who use these roads to find their way to and from 259,” Jessie told K105.
Jessie, though, has not yet heard from the contractor or the project’s engineer on a firm schedule for the work, only that it will begin this week.
Jessie said he will release details regarding the timeline when he has “definitive information.”
Initial work on the project began in March.
